Reviewed
Definition
Reviewed means a listing has passed Indiemaker's moderation before it appears. Our system checks every submission, and a person reviews any it is not sure about. The review screens for spam, fabrication and missing information. It is not a financial audit and confirms no figure the seller declares.
Reviewed means a listing has passed moderation before it goes live. Every listing on Indiemaker is reviewed, so it describes the platform rather than singling out one listing.
What the review checks
The review looks for the things that waste a buyer's week before it starts: revenue that doesn't reconcile with the asking price, templates presented as finished products, copy-paste descriptions, known scam structures, and required fields that are missing or in the wrong units. Our system checks every submission. It publishes the clear cases, turns away the ones that plainly break the rules, sends back the ones that need more information with a list of the fields to fix, and puts anything it is unsure about in front of a person.
What it doesn't confirm
Reviewed says the listing is complete and reachable and nothing in it looks fabricated. It doesn't say the declared revenue is real or current, that the costs are complete, that the seller owns what they are selling, or that the business will keep earning. Those are yours to check. Where an outside source has confirmed something specific, the platform names it, for example Identity Verified for a seller who has confirmed who they are through Stripe.
Where it bites
Reviewed applies to listings, not people. It is easy to read it as a statement about the seller or the numbers, and it is neither.
Worked example
A seller submits a micro-SaaS asking $120,000 on $1,200 of monthly revenue. The review returns it: at that revenue the ask is 100 months of revenue, and no costs are declared. The seller adds twelve months of costs and profit, lowers the price to $84,000, and the listing goes live. The buyer still confirms the revenue on a screen-share.
Why it matters when you acquire
Reviewed shortens the list. It doesn't shorten diligence.
