Gameplay Essentials

Your mission is simple yet challenging: grow, survive, and set high scores. Consume pellets scattered throughout the arena and feast on the remains of fallen snakes to increase your length and point total. Outsmart the AI bots by forcing their heads into your body or the map edge, or lure them toward the storm boundary to eliminate competition.

Control your snake with mouse movements (or WASD/Arrow keys if preferred). For bursts of speed, hold Left Click or the Space bar, but be mindful of your limited stamina. Press R or click Restart in the HUD when you need a fresh start.

Game Mechanics

The generously sized arena features smooth camera tracking that follows your snake's head, dynamically adjusting zoom based on your length. The scoring system rewards each pellet consumed, with particularly valuable harvesting opportunities created when other snakes perish and shed pellets along their trail.

Collision rules are straightforward but unforgiving-if your head touches any snake's body, you're eliminated. However, your own body serves as a solid obstacle to opponents, making strategic cut-offs and traps essential techniques for success.

Should your snake venture beyond the visible playing field, a storm countdown (approximately 5 seconds) begins. Fail to return to the safe zone in time, and you'll be eliminated.

The boosting system provides temporary speed increases for aggressive manoeuvres or hasty retreats. Your stamina bar depletes whilst boosting and regenerates when not in use. If your stamina falls below the minimum threshold, boosting becomes unavailable until sufficient recovery.

AI Opponents

The bot snakes feature varied personalities with slightly imperfect steering and targeting, making them challenging yet beatable. They intelligently gather nearby pellets, prioritise recent death locations for feasting, and occasionally attempt offensive cut-off manoeuvres. Bots use their stamina for attacks and escapes but sometimes "forget," creating exploitable opportunities for savvy players. The bot population fluctuates organically to keep the arena engaging.

Interface & Customisation

The HUD displays essential information: your current score, best score, length, and the number of active bots. A stamina indicator warns when your boost capacity runs low, while a storm timer appears only when you're beyond the world border. The leaderboard showcases the top 10 snakes by score, with your position highlighted in red. A minimap provides crucial situational awareness, showing your position and viewport.

Before playing, you can personalise your experience by entering a nickname (up to 16 characters) and selecting from various snake skins. Your choices persist between sessions via local storage.

Strategy Tips

Create feeding opportunities by cutting in front of bots, forcing collisions that generate pellet trails. Lure opponents toward the border where some will overextend into the storm countdown. Maintain stamina reserves for emergency escapes, as an empty tank makes you vulnerable. Use the minimap to anticipate movements and create strategic traps.
