Indiemaker / Where sales work

Where sales work.

Every Indiemaker sale closes through Escrow.com, and Escrow.com can't work with every country. Here is the full list, so you know before you list or make an offer.

The rule

Two lists, two rules.

Most countries are fine. The ones below are not, and which list a country is on decides whether there is a way round it.

What we check

When you start a listing, make an offer or accept one, we ask where you live and which country your bank account is in. If Escrow.com can't serve you, we tell you then, not after a buyer has paid.

Escrow.com makes the final check when money moves. These lists are copied from Escrow.com's own list, last checked 2 October 2026.

Sanctioned countries

8 countries · where you live or where you bank

Belarus · Cuba · Iran · Myanmar · North Korea · Russia · South Sudan · Syria

If you live in one of these countries, or your bank is in one, you can't buy or sell on Indiemaker. This is international sanctions law, and there is no way round it. Escrow.com also refuses five occupied regions of Ukraine: Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia.

Banks Escrow.com can't pay

41 countries · only where you bank counts

Afghanistan · Algeria · Angola · Azerbaijan · Burundi · Cambodia · Central African Republic · Chad · Congo · Côte d'Ivoire · Democratic Republic of the Congo · Egypt · Equatorial Guinea · Eritrea · Ethiopia · Guinea · Guinea-Bissau · Haiti · Honduras · Iraq · Kazakhstan · Kyrgyzstan · Laos · Lebanon · Liberia · Libya · Moldova · Nigeria · Pakistan · Panama · Sierra Leone · Somalia · Sudan · Suriname · Tajikistan · Uganda · Ukraine · Uzbekistan · Venezuela · Yemen · Zimbabwe

Escrow.com won't send money to, or take money from, a bank in these countries. Where you live doesn't matter here. If you have a bank account in your own name in another country, you can buy and sell normally.

Questions

What this means for you.

I live in one of the 41 countries but bank somewhere else.

Then you can sell. Tell us your bank's country in the first step of the listing wizard, or in your payment settings. Escrow.com pays the account, so the account has to be in your own name.

Can I be paid into Wise, Payoneer or WorldFirst?

No. Escrow.com only pays out to banks, in your own name, and its own FAQ rules out PayPal, Wise, Payoneer and similar money transfer services. That includes their receiving accounts with US, UK or EU bank details. You need an ordinary bank account in a country Escrow.com supports.

Can you make an exception?

No. Escrow.com holds the money and decides who it can pay, and Indiemaker never holds funds itself. We check early so you don't spend time on a listing that can't close.

Will this list change?

When Escrow.com changes its list, we change ours and the checks with it. If you think a country is listed wrongly, tell us.

How a sale closes.

Once you know a sale can close, the rest is the handover: five steps, in order, with both sides watching the same checklist.
