When building an indie product, it’s easy to focus heavily on the product itself and leave visual presentation until later. But I’ve noticed that for products involving physical spaces, architecture, or design, good visuals can make the concept much easier to understand.
For example, a company developing modular homes could use 3D renders, walkthroughs, or short animations to show how the product looks, how spaces are arranged, and how different configurations work. A modular-home brand such as https://slim.house/ is a good example of a product where visual presentation can help communicate the concept more clearly.
For indie makers, I’m curious:
When do you usually invest in professional visuals? Do screenshots and static images work better than short videos? Have 3D renders or animations helped you explain a product? At what stage do you think visual quality starts affecting conversions?
I’d be interested to hear how other makers balance development work with the presentation of their product.
